Once Every 4 Years

What 2 things will NOT happen again for another 4 years?

February 29th.

And . . . Victoria at the Florida Strawberry Festival. (I have a friend that says she only does Disney once a decade. This isn't as drastic. But still . . . I had my fill.)

Steph and I took the kids to the Strawberry Festival this morning. We had a great time. We both agreed to have ONE naughty edible. No more. I split my steak sandwich with her. She split her huge onion rings with me.
I do feel gross, I'll admit it. But as previously stated, it will be 4 years until I am faced with the same dilemma . . . Bloomin' onion, cotton candy, funnel cake, etc. from a portable grease trailer served by scary individuals missing a lot of teeth.

William thought these were so cool. Feet massagers.

If you look closely, you will notice he is biting his bottom lip so his front teeth are visible making him look like he has buck teeth.

We let the kids ride some of the rides.
William enjoyed this one . . .

. . . and NOT this one. It slung him and jerked him around a lot.
Notice the car 'sponsor'. He picked the car in honor of his SiSi and her 9am diet coke, lite ice.

We went into the Livestock Tent. One of the cows 'moooed' at Sofia.
As William was paroosing the cows he came across a calf all by himself. He looked very concerned then asked, "He wants his dad. Where is his dad?" Brad was out of town this week - he really missed him.
Whenever I see a cow I think of the last time Brad and I were in Hawaii. We went to see the sunrise at the summit of Haleakala. It was pitch black when we drove up 28 miles (10,000 feet above sea level) so we couldn't see what we were passing. On the drive back down, there were cows all over the volcano. Each time we passed a new
herd, we'd say 'coooow'.

cooow

We got SoSo and Wm strawberry shortcake. They loved it. I think the pictures say it the best though.
William enjoyed his bowl . . .

down to the last strawberry.

SoSo liked hers. Though, I think she liked playing in it the most.

They played dress up with cowboy hats . . .

And watched intently at the guys doing stunts on the skateboard and BMX bikes.

Madelyn hung out and enjoyed the 'sites'.

FUN morning. It'll do me for 4 years though.

First Soccer Experience

One of William's Christmas presents from my parents was 'Kiddie Kickers' at the Y.
It is very funny to watch 3 year olds trying to play soccer. Adorable. And funny.
So far, it's just 10 kids kicking soccer balls. They don't get that they're playing a game. The coach says, "Huddle up" and "Take a lap". Phrases 3 year olds don't grasp yet. About 20 minutes into the game, most of the boys were picking up sticks, kicking the dirt (as opposed to the ball), climbing the goals, or had lost complete interest and were sitting on the sidelines.
We had a great time watching the chaos.
William had fun burning off energy.
